Romantic Chase

Location

Feet glide and slide

you lead every stride.

I look down

careful, as not to look like a clown.

Step one, step two

trying not to step on you.

I can't help this crimson heat

covering me from my head to my feet.

Left left, right right

nothing else in mind tonight.

You spin me out and spin me in

bend me back and touch my chin.

You pull me close, hand on my waist

all in this romantic chase.

Our bodies move as one

like lovebugs floating in the sun.

Gentle, like a flower petal floating to the ground

you look upon me like a treasure to be found.

She catches your eye

beauty like a butterfly.

So poised and true

locks of golden brown hair and eyes of blue.

She loves to a song of her own-

different rhythm, different tone.

You spin me out...

You spin me...

You spin...

You.

Feet trip and slip

I lose my grip.

Losing, falling, breaking.

Hands trembling,

cold and lonely.

If I knew, if only.

As you look upon her now

like a treasure to be found

I only wish that I knew how

you moved so quickly to her sound

her look, her feel and taste

all in this romantic chase.
