The Root Of All Happiness

People always wondered how

This one little word

Can contain so much power

A beautiful idea whose mere existence

Has the potential to build someone up

As swiftly and as easily as it can break them down

But the reality is

Without the honest actions

To thoroughly define just how deep

The feeling runs within the human soul

Its existence is meaningless to all those

Who hear its utterance 

When the feeling of love is true and pure

You feel its warmth overtake your body

Enveloping every ounce of your being

In a cocoon of unmistakable happiness

Which satisfies one of everyones basic human needs...

Having a sense of love and belonging

What people fail to realize

Is that this love and affection

Does not have to come from an extrinsic source

Self love is just as important,

If not more important,

Than seeking and obtaining this necessity from others

Whether someone clearly exclaims it or not

Everyone needs someone to give them their time and energy

Their full undivided devotion and attention

So that they may grow up feeling important

And have a positive outlook on life
