Roots

Roots

The levels of the heart intertwine like roots

In

The

   Ground

Trees dead like us

they wait and believe that their cause is still needed,

Effort in a dead dream

The tree may tell them that it is no longer able to stay strong

yet the roots have closed ears

As

 I

  Did

with you

you were my tree, my life, my mission

that I failed

take in the hate filled air

comments, hate, and criticism

So much more than just air

I cleaned it, fixed it, and made it beautiful

yet that hate had to go somewhere: me

deep underneath the ground where even

I

thought

It

Was

Buried

Pumped it up to you

after all you needed it more than I did

I was fine, knowing you were more than fine

more than great

more than me

Closed my eyes and watching as you flourished

I

 Fell

but who cared about me,

The tree was seen

Roots covered up

You where all that they saw anyways
