The Roots of Change

Change is a thought that more often than not

will ceaselessly remain a thought.

What we would change about the world,

or others,

if we could.

What use is there in hopeful thoughts

if they do not manifest into action?

The roots of change

are in the hearts of those who wish for change.

Today would not be

the today that we know

without the change in the people

who knew change needed to happen.

If I could choose to change the world,

it would only be

to make myself and my people,

people of action.

No more wishing

or hoping

or waiting for change.

Only change in our hearts and minds

that would help us change our world

for the better.
