The Rose
Silently, sitting mid musty books
teardrops marked the mottled leafs
where brittle thorns and wounded hearts did part.
Swollen eyes from weeping dried,
to revere the beauty of love forgotten.
Mumbling words writ on crumpled parceled leaves.
T’was serenity that elevated past lofty attic walls,
as memories of beating hearts within bosoms swells,
T's a hollowed tryst in the looking glass
that linked sweet-scented affinities,
unveiling timeless memories
as reflections in the windowpane.
Shadows played with a paling moon,
lightning raced round setting stars,
Rain danced with singing winds,
Thunder rolled by mountain peaks,
To the cockcrow and glint of mornings' sun
softly setting the tender Rose between the fold,
I turned to embrace the day.
