A rose
A rose
with its
brilliant red petals.
Silky smooth
texture covered
in blood.
Lying on the floor
abandoned.
She wondered
if he was the one.
But feared
his rejection.
Didn't want
to be left
feeling empty.
Drops of scarlet
trickled down from
her trembling,
clenched hand.
Punctured by
the dangerous,
inconspicuous,
thorn covered stem.
