Rose


They tell you you are worth nothing but your beauty, left to set ablazed and in sight 
Of that fiery sun who dares lay its gaze on you 
That which consumes you from your vibrancy   
Whose hands attempt nothing 
But to deflower you from your stem 
So do hold dearest your pedals 
And close up your bud 
For straying hands may pluck you 
And leave you stripped on the ground
