Rose Petals on Fire

Sometimes in life

you have to realize that

life is like falling rose

petals on fire,

like the rain is dripping

acid carving into our skin,

that maybe life is not supposed

to be perfect,

or what is now considered

perfect,

that maybe it's okay to go

out and be yourself,

that you can go out and wear tight

clothes if you are bigger,

that bulimic girls can eat

all their food and not puke it

up,

or that cutter can go out and show

their maddness inside and scars,

that a gay person can go out with

their lover and kiss in front of

hundreds of people and not care,

because we are human,

we all make mistakes,

and we all have the right to be happy

and not care what people will think
