The Rose of a Promise

Love was absent or presented in the wrong way in the beginning, After realizing the error a correction was needed and hearts needed mending, The start was with correction with self and guidance in life, But also correction of how one loved another through sincerity and not strife, Over time things began to positively change and flourish, New love was found buried under old and was something exciting to cherish, Same people but a different method and eager heart, Promising this time was different and no one would part, Over time others invaded that new union, Like oil added to water they added confusion, Raising fear and doubt in something that was honest and pure, Like spreading a disease and hiding the cure, Silence became more frequent and private moments were no more, Like death had taken place in an area that love was supposed to soar, So much had past and so much progress made, Waiting for the Rose that held the promise being threatened to fade, As the heart slowly beats and the tears stream down the face, Passion begins to become numb as they all run the race, Will those that possess a cold heart ever see the truth in what they do, Will God stop the torment they cause just for loving you, You are my Hero, my friend, my Savior and my King, You are the Rose of a Promise this world could never bring.
