The Rose Within

Location

A rose sat within my heart

Closed off from the world.

It dare not show a single petal

In fear it would wither away.

So it stayed in my heart,

Encased in a throne of thorns.

The light of day could not break the chains

Nor could the most savage of fires burn it down.

But then came you,

And with your tender touch

The thorns shattered, revealing that sacred rose.

You breathed your breathe onto its leaves

And with your warmth it began to bloom.

So now the rose that sat in my heart

has left its home and is now with you.
