Roses
At first they were friends.
And the first rose he sent was yellow.
Yellow for friendship, to show he cared.
Time past, and their friendship grew.
Then he send her lavender.
Lavender for enchantment, he was falling for her.
She accepted, and more time passed.
He then sent her orange.
Orange for desired time, he wanted to know her better.
So they were together, and they grew closer.
That’s when he gave her red.
Red for love, romance, and eternity, he wanted her forever.
They were to be united, forever in marriage.
And there was red and white, joined.
Red and white, together, for their unity together.
They were wed, and soon another to join them.
The baby came, and with it, a blue rose.
Blue for achievement, for attaining the impossible, together.
They grew older, at times things were tough.
Sometimes doubt set in, but then he gave her pink.
Pink for happiness, he loved and was happy with only her.
Years past, they great old together… and he died.
And so she gave him roses.
Black, for death and departure.
But those roses of black, of sorrow and death.
They were not alone, with them deep pink.
Deep pink, for thank you… for every other rose
