Roses
I remember long ago
when when every summer day
you would give me a yellow rose before we played
I remember long ago
when fall was on the rise
you would come to school, with dew drops on your eyes
I remember now
closer now then before
winter came and you were knocking...knocking on my door,
each of those days the roses you brought were red
and now spring has come
and you lie beneath the ground
its my turn to bring you roses instead
