Roses

The roses tell a story

of a life wasted in vanity,

their short-lived reality,

turned into our crude fantasy.

In this era of gullibility,

beauty beats personality,

photoshop beats artistry

and googling "love quotes" beats true authentic poetry.

The roses tell a story,

and if we heed to their words

our life, like theirs

will end soon

in all eventuality.
