Rosey Rosey Cheeks
Some days I feel I’m still a kid
With rosey rosey cheeks.
I haven't done too much adulting
In oh, some several weeks.
I laugh, I cry, I scream and shout
And life just passes by.
And only when the big things come
Do I need stop and sigh.
Like big thing one, starting college
And writing my first check.
Money takes such work to come by
Though I haven’t much left.
Like big thing two, losing grandpa
Half way through last school year.
And now I visit that old farm
With quite a bit less cheer.
The big things are always coming
But when I do not know.
If there’s one thing that I have learned
Sometimes they help me grow.
I know that hard work is needed
If I want to succeed.
I put my best foot first in life
While pushing away greed.
I know many people love me.
On them I can depend.
So when I lose something I love,
My life, it will not end.
So while I may not be a kid
With rosey rosey cheeks,
I can relax and enjoy life.
There’s more good than bad, it seems.
