Routine

Shrill voice of the alarm.

Gets out of bed.

Gears up.

ascends towards school.

Classrooms are tundra.

Sits at desk.

Heavy backpack-

Can’t keep warm.

Sounds buzzing in ear.

Walks through hallway.

Frozen inside.

descends towards home.

Doors wide open. Air.

Perches in warm car.

Thaws out.

Sucks in breath. Exhale.

Eat.

dream.

Repeat.
