ROW

"Row" they said

"easy" they said

no running, no jumping, no ability required

"row" they scream

"harder" they scream

oars whipping, boat creaking, water racing.

"Power ten" coxswain yells

"Bow ball" coxswain yells

lungs busting, heart pumping, legs burning.

Photo finish

Finish line

backwards, exhausted, exhilarated

Now DO IT ALL AGAIN.
