Royal Fool

It's time for me to work today

The kingdom's a short walk away

I'm not a knight or something cool

I am merely the Royal Fool

A jester's hat, a colored staff

I live to make the good king laugh

As he handles stress of his rule

I am merely the Royal Fool

My job is not the best of things

But I get to laugh, play, and sing!

Do not treat me like a mere tool

I am the brilliant Royal Fool!
