Royal Wedding

Handful of co workers and students asked me if I watched the Royal Wedding...I said no. All were flabbergasted. It made me chuckle that reaction. And made me realize how messed up they are, but how messed up I am as well. I'm so preoccupied about the NBA playoffs, while the whole world it seemed was watching the royal wedding and some judging her dress, and yet, we all continue to overlook the fact that in Venezuela, people are dying of hunger. I know, I know, stuff like that happens all over. It just bothered me how the news was covering that wedding so much, that mentions of Venezuela was mentioned in small letters at the bottom that roll by. Almost as if it were not as important as what orderves were being given out at the wedding. Have I become numb? Or just at a point where I just don't care about people suffering anymore? I used to read more, and feel sad, you know? For someone that always tries and considers themselves to lean away from corporations, the media, and propaganda...I gotta admit, they did me dirty.
