Ruined

I bet I wasn’t the first girl

Whose innocence you took advantage of

I couldn’t have been

You were too comfortable

And how many girls after me

Have you made feel helpless

And worthless

You still haunt my dreams

I’m afraid to sleep

Afraid to enter unwillingly into my mind

Because when I do

You’re waiting at the door

You’ve made yourself at home

Taken what’s mine and made it yours

The scars that cover my wrists

And thighs

And hips

The scars that cover my heart

And soul

Those are your doing

I can’t erase your marks

It kills me knowing that you live your life

As though you’ve done no wrong

As though you didn’t steal my happiness

Like it belonged to you

You made me feel like I was nothing

You took my life from me

You ruined me
