Run

Your feet pound,
slap the crisp, dry grass.
Crunch.
Crunch.
Slap.
Feel your heart in your head,
pulsing as if it wants to be let out.
Weave around the snake holes.
Avoid the flowers
that grow so beautiful.
Although they've been denied rain.
Breathe deep,
in,out.
In.
Out.
Pause and listen.
Take in the world.
Keep going; don't stop.
This is who you are.
