Runaway Bay

I didn't want to just leave

but I had to get on the road.

The road to Runaway Bay

The place I've lived, the place I'll die

The place my mind flew away

And I don't know when I'll take my last breath

The place that's my home, the place of my death

That place that some say

Is Runaway Bay

I wear my bright colors

And my heart on my sleeve

My head's always churning

New stories it weaves

So I write in my notebook

I draw on my arms

The way that I'll find my escape.

Just take me to Runaway Bay.

And I was his friend

I was his family

I wanted a hug

Wanted one last goodbye

I had no idea

I mean really, no clue

He was going to Runaway Bay.

So why can't you take me there too?

I wish you were here

I wish you could breathe

I need an embrace

Grip that you haven't left

I know in my head

I know that you're gone

But my heart is just throbbing so bad

Thoughts of Runaway Bay drive me mad

And this is the mind

I'm here

I'm now

I'm going to do it

This is all and I'm gone

I've been blown away

My life wasted away

But I know that it was not a waste

Since I've arrived in Runaway Bay

I've left my goodbyes

Posted there on the wall

I hope that they'll see it

I hope they see me.

I know they won't get it

Why I came all this way

Why I took this long road down to Runaway Bay.

I went to the party

I cried and I cried

I sat and I knew it was wrong

I looked at your face

One last glimpse at your face

But it stretched and it twisted all wrong

And I hadn't a chair

I sat on the floor

My limbs were all crushed and all cramped

I sobbed and I writhed and I stared at the floor

And I thought about Runaway Bay

What a surprise was Runaway Bay.
