Runaway Wanderer

Coatless

Walking in the streets

In the pouring rain

All alone

Can you see me?

Sneezing in the night,

Not knowing where to go

In the moonlight

Runaway Wanderer, Runaway Wanderer

It’s not a name I care to keep

It’s one I’d leave behind

Darkness covers me

It’s tearing me apart

Laughing in my face

Openly mocking me

Now cowering

In a dark alley

Breathing oh so hard

With tears streaking down

Home

What a pleasant place

With warm fire aglow

A better place than this

I know

The wrong I’ve done

Running away

Made things worse

Runaway Wanderer, Runaway Wanderer

It’s not a name I care to keep

It’s one I’d leave behind

Turning back feels right

Turning back feels good

Turning back is the right thing to do
