This Runner Knows Better
Feet. On the pavement. Bare feet. No shoes. Each slam against the ground with all the emotion harsher than a tsunami wave crashing on the beach's sand. Run. Faster and faster. There's no stopping the leaf that's caught in this wind. At first, a light breeze, and the leaf was floating around in circles, unsure of where to go. Then as the breeze got stronger the leaf's light, breezy circles turned into more of a hurricane. This hurricane. Hurricane of pain. With each vigorous step the legs of this leaf were shaking, trembling. Each bone-pressing step of this sprint an earthquake for each pebble. An earthquake for each tiny piece of glass. But sadly did this little leaf know that the earthquake among the pebbles and stones caused by the leaf did not even equate to the real storms in life. Two miles from home this windstorm carried this poor damaged leaf with not a clue about the world. When the leaf had taken flight it thought it was standing up to fight. Fight against what kind of person the leaf thought it was and was being brought down by others who weren't it. The little leaf with its' exquisite green color and fierce green vines did not realize the potential yet of who it was supposed to be. Little did this little leaf know, it's nowhere near falling off this tree, the tree of life.
