The Runner's Creed

It doesn't matter where you’re going; It doesn't matter how far you go; It doesn't’ matter the pace you travel; As long as you run the run. The run can only be embodied by, A dichotomous blend of pain and joy. The sheer physical and mental agony, Conjoint with euphoria so complete; You’re coming back for more. Through the sun, rain, snow, or hail; The elements cannot hinder, A determined runner on his feet, Running for the run. Swift as a diving falcon; The cunning of a striking snake; The spry step of a dancing antelope; Comfortable as the lion, On his African prairie abode. The raw power of body, mind and soul; The essence of the human spirit; No one can fully comprehend, Until they accept the challenge; Until they run to run. No matter the distance, No matter the anguish, No matter the risk, To life and limb. Never surrender. Never doubt. Never look back. Only finish the race. Only run the run. It doesn't matter where you’re going; It doesn't matter how far you go; It doesn't’ matter the pace you travel; As long as you run to run.
