The Runner’s Edition of The Beginning, Middle and End

I remember the words that were said at the beginning:
“You can and you will.”
“Breathe in and breathe out.”
“Focus on the goal.”
“Relief is coming.”
I remember the images in the middle:
The beautiful blue sky,
Familiar faces of friends and family,
And the perfect green grass ahead of me.
I remember the feelings at the end:
The unexpected snap,
The hard ground catching my disabled body,
And the destructive thought repeating in my mind:
“You can’t and you won’t.”
“You can’t and you didn’t.”
“You can’t and you never will.”
