Running

She didn’t know where she was going; She just kept on moving. She swept past the empty halls, And she ignored all the gaping holes, And she kept on running. She didn’t hear the talking, And to her there was no laughing, And all she knew was moving. The beautiful archways didn’t exist, Nor did their now tattered remains, And she didn’t notice the ashes Or the pain that had descended. And the only thing was her. She kept moving, rushing And didn’t notice the whispers. She didn’t understand The people watching her, Waiting for her to come back. And she just kept running.
