Running 9-18-17

After all of this time,

I still can’t stop running

My feet beat the rogue terrain

And propel my body forward in rhythm

With my aching heart,

feeling to explode

At any second because

I simply cannot get

Enough air into my lungs

to keep up with this

Unsustainable pace. Maybe

the fear keeps me from

Collapsing with exhaustion in the

end. Maybe it’s the

Anger that fuels my steps with

the will and determination

To continue forward. I cannot stop myself,

try as I might, I

Just can’t. Maybe running is the

only thing keeping me from the

Certainty of my impending demise.

Whatever the reason, I continue

Forward. I have been running for

so long, I can no longer feel my legs.

What am I running from?

What am I running towards?

What am I running for?
