Running of the Blind

Capturing the smell of old, cheap perfume.
The horrible sound of silence.
The late night screams of terror.
Her eyes glued shut from fear of violence.
Her heart smashed into pieces.

His love being betrayed each day.
The sense of not belonging.
His clothes ripped and torn.
The blood stains that do not wash away.
The scars that are never forgotten.

Too scared to show their faces.
Falling over guilt.
Not strong enough to fight.
The cracking of the bones.
The running of the blind.
