Running Girl

As I take a breath,

with each and every step

My heart is racing

as I get closer and closer.

My feet are pounding

on the track

Sweat is dripping

down my face.

My thirst for success

leads me to my destination.

As I cross the finish line,

my heart is pounding,

my feet are blistered,

and my legs are like jello.

My rubber sole is left on the track

as she kicks me off.
