Running Keys

Ping, ping, ping, Can you hear those keys sing? How long has my mother been gone? I could see here standing over there, singing. If she were ever to hear me yawn, Out the door I would be before the pendulum could swing.   “Mother, Mother,” I yell, “Why can’t I just be myself?” Where have you been every time I fell? “Were you ever allowed to just be yourself?” Do you even hear me as I yell?   As we come together as one, Oh, what have we begun? Hope, peace, and love, do we have none? Just as my hand starts to run, We will slowly come together, as one.
