Running out of time

Ecclesiastes 5:2

2 (5:1) Do not be rash with your mouth or hasty in your heart to bring up a matter before God,
for God is in heaven and you are on earth!
Therefore, let your words be few.

Running out of time the day is almost over

Early in the morning the hours mostly planned

Little moving done just running for cover

on a little planet that seems undermanned

Quietly sucking on a thumb trying to appear wise

Little do I know that the diaper is smelling?

Pretty close to dumb leaning on my wife

Always on the go on the edge of rebellion

Little progress made all the signs are backward

Circling around hope that seems out of my reach

Scriptures our of date left somewhere in my backyard

Now with weeds overgrown interwoven with my speech

Words are just words and truth only found in silence

Feet of clay are brittle and made for the lightweights

Gather now all the hurts for the final deliverance

To the gory of the griddle or the Promise never late
