Running Thoughts

The more I think the less I sleep

Thoughts just keep on spinning

So I lay awake and watch time take

As the day starts beginning

Long does it last as the days passed

What day is it today

But then I think, my heart shall sink

Does it matter anyway

Tic toc my friend you do intend

To lead me into dust

With heavy eyes I do surmise

I wish my mind would rust

Those of sense know suspense

You see they can relate

It goes on until the early dawn

As the thoughts do debate

I am an unpublished poet and have been writing for the past two years. I have many poems but am hesitant to share online but gladly share in person. I still write because of all those that have enjoyed reading my writing.
