Running Through the Fire

The pain within me

It coils within and within

Where am I now?

It hurts, it hurts so

The pain is clouding my thoughts.

Where am I now?

Where am I to go?

I feel so lost and yet

I cannot go there yet.

Running through the fire

On and on I go and I'm

Running through the fire

Note: This is a poem I wrote after my doctor's visit. I was thought to have Interstitial Cystitis, which is a painful bladder disease. Basically, the fire represents the pain I go through every day. The fire isn't constant...I get breaks from it...the fire does go out. But it's still there.

AmaraTheWarrior

Hello, my name is Anne-Marie. Welcome to my profile. I like to think of myself as a writer and advocate for mental health and invisible illnesses. Part of me struggles with my faith on a daily basis because of my sexual orientation. So a lot of my poetry is about coping with that and my health on a day-to-day basis. I don't define myself with my sexual orientation or my health struggles but they are a part of me; there's no denying that. I love to write dark science fiction about dystopic futuristic landscapes. I like to write strong female leads with a lot of emotion and feeling to them. I truly live, breathe, and enjoy writing. Thank you for reading this
