The Runway

Posing for Marie Claire, Vogue, Elle Wearing only Prada, Valentino, Channel Popping diet pills, pink pedicures, scent of perfume There’s nothing interesting about looking perfect But life is too short to blend in to a room Portfolios, 8x10 headshots Waiting for callbacks Signing contracts You are now the client’s doll Cameras flashing Model castings Constantly traveling New York City Paris Milan Style is about Individualism Inspiration Image Each time, it’s all about your I-deserve-it attitude Or the way you strut Looking fabulous and fierce, full of confidence While faces watch from a front row seat Dress me, I’m your mannequin Cotton, lace, satin Makeup covered skin And the designers are only behind the scenes Creative masterminds Excitement running through their very beings The music starts To the left, you hear a woman shout go You stomp out onto the catwalk Heels pounding on the hard platform With a head-turning, heart-stopping posture All eyes on you Tall and sensuous A smoky eye and hair styled Looking stunning and powerful The point of focus Blood rushing through your veins Like an adrenaline junkie You live for the fame As you exit the stage You take off running Clients grabbing you, undressing you, restyling you Hairspray, powder, shoes Two minutes And you’re back, working it, A completely new look
