Rural

An ocean of fields

Across lays a sun-burnt seal of clouds

Kissed by the afterglow of day.

A pocket of blue declares it’s final goodbyes to the evening sky.

Soon to be tucked away by the dead of night.

Crickets begin their nightly choir.

The rural home.

Displaced by the horrors of city, suburbs.

The land of the free.

Slowing crawling away.

Yearning for more, but wanting nothing better.

Nightly walks through the desolate park, hand in hand w/ a lover.

Admiring the beauty of a earthen worm.

Admiring the beauty of an ever-changing sky.

Admiring the beauty of how the trees sway.

Admiring the beauty of home.

Letting the sound of thunder rock my thoughts to sleep.

Rumble of a distant train.

Pitter-patter of rain on the window.

My rural home.

Whisked away.

Spun into a sink hole of concrete madness.

Nothing stops, everything goes.

Take me back to my rural home.

Give me the bugs.

Give me the stars.

Give me night breeze.

Give me my rural home.
