Rush

Location

Laced with excitement and terror

a fabrication of a dead dream

drowned out by the demands

the expectations

how they cripple our creations

tormented with desires

of becoming absolute

absolution that evades our grasp

only a flash

a touch, a taste

enough to know you want it

enough that you try to force it

stuck in the drone, the static

the melodic malicious bore

you crave it; that moment

that feeling

rarely put into words

it leaves you gasping

choking in shattered shocks of adrenaline

the overwhelming burst in every pore

chemicals rushing

staggering to regain thought through

an undercurrent of peaceful energy

an earth-bound body

sacrifices for a lucid mind.
