The Rush of Performing
As I stand on the big, broad stage
My heart full of emotions like the words on a page
I stare into the dark and filled crowd
Not knowing where to look, other than when I bow
Finally coming true, the place I want to be
I tremble with soul, my dream before me
As the curtains open, and the audience awaits
I just have to remember I have a clean slate
I must impress, influence, and inspire
For the critics decide my fate and desires
I take my place before their hands
Wondering if they will be a fan
As I perform with heart
Attatched at part
Expression with ambition
On a new act tradition
During the play
In which I will not stray
The goal I seek
Is soon in reach
The end is coming
My heart is humming
The applause for me
Must be meant to be
Like I said before
Performing is in my core
Resuming when I am asked, which should be next fall
For now I am finished, with the assigned and aspired job.
