saccharine

no.

simple

one syllable.

yet the simplest of words

can be choked upon

with a foreign tongue forcing it

back down your throat.

your teeth must be rotting.

constantly caked with

the sweet saccharine syrup that

tumbles from your mouth

that you poured

down my ears.

but you smile- i am blinded.

and i know that

the rot followed

the sugar down into

the deepest chamber of my heart.

and the echos

eternally remind me that

i did not say

no.
