Sacred silence

Sometimes needed

Sometimes practiced

Sometimes heeded

Often overlooked by many

Those who wish for it are plenty

But it's not always there to find

You have to look into your mind

If you try to sit with it

Then you surely won't regret

All the moments there for you

And all the memories waiting too

Takes you back to far and wide

Over hills and waves and tides

And, oh the moments you recall

As if they never left at all

In sheer abandonment

Of all the chaos

You will not regret

The loss

You will often take the time

To recall a friend or two

You might smile or drop a tear

And you often wish them near

Take the silence, hold it close

Never doubt what it's about

Because there's nothing better than

A moment with an old friend
