The Sacrifices of our Veterans
A little boys sadness because his father isn’t there to see his winning shot in the basketball game.
An exhausted wife’s tears as she struggles with getting three rambunctious kids ready for bed knowing tomorrow will be much of the same.
A preteen girl’s heartbreak as she stands alone at the community father daughter dance.
A young man’s disappointment as he crosses his graduation stage, no father there to shake his hand.
Veterans sacrifice months and sometimes years away from their spouses and children. They miss their child's first steps, birthdays, football games, and high school proms.
They listen over the telephone as their families celebrate holidays without them. Some veterans have missed the births of their children or the passing of their mom.
Being away from their family, an inability to physically love their spouse, or be there to support their children and cheer them on during their childhood successes.
Choosing instead to secure our borders, fight the enemy, and clean up other countries messes.
They do what's necessary to keep both their country and our families safe.
They protect citizens of the United States of America who sometimes don't care nor show that they appreciate........your sacrifices.
You defend us all against enemies both foreign and domestic and you do it all without accolades, without celebration, and most times without a thank you.
Your sacrifices provide us countless freedoms,
An ability to live in a democracy celebrating the red, white, and blue........so True.
So to the heroes who go unnoticed and who may be neglected by the government and your fellow man.
For me, you service and sacrifices will never be forgotten and I commend you, I thank you, I honor you for defending this land.
Thank you to all veterans who have served.
