Sad Eyes

Last night

I had the misfortune of seeing you

in my dreams

you looked at me with your sad eyes

that gleamed

then the clouds began to cry

The drops falling off your face into the sky.

I couldn’t tell

if you were upset

you just kept

looking into my sad eyes.

Being so confused,

I wept

not knowing how you felt

not knowing if you knew

the cards I’ve been dealt.

The misfortune you’ve caused me

weighs heavier and heavier

day by day.

then you smiled, took my hand

and relayed,

that everything I worry for

is going to be okay.
