A Sad Victory

Her jutting ribs are the fingerprints of abuse

As the mirrors lie the sound of the closing fridge is her muse

She pushes her thoughts away as hard as she can

but the scale never moves, what a sin

It's evil she screams,

take it away it destroys my dreams

But she's not strong enough

it always calls her bluff

Everyday she tries but can't succeed

she no longer knows what she needs

The tears roll down as she admits defeat

she lets it take over until she's beat
