Safe Places

Safe Places

The warmth of the sun shines on my face

Letting all the frustrations of the day race

This safe place I call mine

My mind settles on the thought of staying

Knowing there would be no use straying

This safe place I call mine

The sun is now setting

I sit on the floor, my mind now fretting

This safe place I call mine

I’m afraid of the dark, it’s no use

I walk home, asking the sky to call a truce

This safe place I call mine

I look behind me, the soft glow of the moon now shines on me

My face forms a smile, my anxieties flee

The safe place is no longer a place at all

But it will still be called mine

I enjoy writing poetry when I can, I also enjoy photography and making a story from my photos.
