Safe Space

Late night silence in the room.

An occasional feeling of doom.

Forced to sit quiet and still.

Then emotions begin to spill.

Onto the pages of my  notebook.

Never taking a second to look.

Back to make sure feelings are spared.

It is my safe place, I do not care.

Memories creep in the front of my mind.

The secret ones I keep behind.

So I write to set them free.

They no longer bother me.
