Safe Space.
Welcome to my safe space be sure to leave your shoes at the door, the floor is made of glass so tread lightly or you might shatter it.
Make space on the bed if you want to sit down but just make sure you don't go through the piles, you might find a smile I've misplaced and I don't know if it fits anymore.
Keep your eyes fixed on what I show you. I've won Oscar's for being the best actor I hope you never get to call my bluff because you wouldn't know what to say next and I'd feel compelled to explain. There's nothing to explain.
Don't stare at the walls for too long, they tend to cave in. I swear my safe space is a scare house at times, you just have to be careful if you want survive.
I hope the big lock on my closet doesn't make you wonder, it's custom made with my heart so yes I feel nothing at this point and it's better that way. I can't risk having what's behind that door escape.
If you stay over for long enough you'll even forget about asking what's behind the closet door. All I'll say is once upon a time, I wore my heart on my sleeves, by the time I got back the monster was waiting for me. It had my table set for a dinner for two with a three course menu.
I know it sounds romantic. When I entered it offered a tray full of tiny biological factors the family never talks about as an appetizer , we set around the table and before we knew it abuse, our starter was served, the chef entered and said sweet nothing describing the main meal and in that moment death sounded like a dream, we were sipping on lose, for desert we had a big bowl of fear. That's how I lived for what feels like forever, it's the ex we never talk about but can't get over.
Don't go through my drawers, that's where we keep our toys, you know pills, razors, a rope and some vodka. We play nice games when it comes to visit, my favourite is numb the emotional pain by allowing yourself to bleed, the trick is to always stay alive. The bitter beast believes being brave begins with a single cut and I have miles.
This is it, my safe space where I spend hours on end and I always keep the door shut so that nothing can escape, we never open the curtains especially on beautiful sunny days, they get annoyingly sunny but for you today I opened the window both literally and figuratively, I hope you enjoyed your stay.
