Safe in your hands

I am not scared when you raise your hand,
Though I may flinch, you understand.
I do not worry when I speak my mind,
Because through thick and thin, you are always kind.
You make me feel safe even when you are mad,
Because you say the right thing to make me glad.
On my darkest days you are always there,
You make sure that I know you care.
I wake up every morning happy to see your face,
Instead of thinking “how the hell do I get out of this place?”
Because you are so kind and loving my dear,
You will never have to wonder why I would disappear.
