Safety in my Veins

There's a dragon guarding my mind

You sang and he let you pass

It's a dark tunnel from my head to my heart

You lit candles along the way

My nightmares fled in fear of you

My shadows were surprised by you

They told you my secrets and embraced yours

Everything in me

save my consciousness

let you in

You put peace in my blood

Safety in my viens

My heartbeat slowly fell into the rhythm of yours

Now I'm alone

I have to tell my lungs to inhale

They don't always remember

Since your breath isn't here to remind them
