Sailorman's Wife

A sailorman's wife

Looking out at the storm

Filled with such dread

She's barely holding on anymore.

She look to the sea.

Is crippled with need

For one last touch

From her sailor boy.

The look in her eyes

Drowning

The fear in her heart

Surrounding

The weight of the world

on one single shore

How much can this woman

Hold anymore?

One day the tides

will come back in

carrying with them joy and a grin

The wife will no more

Look out at the storm

Because her dear sailorman

is just beyond the screen door.
