The Sailor's Story

The dreary man with feet that drag As torn as a discarded rag The rain is ocean waves, she sits A negative vibe he transmits Tales of sailing and rambling Life and death they be gambling Cracking thunder and crashing waves The crew rushes to work like slaves A tale of a beaten sailor Freed from his bonds by a jailer The years of treacherous glory An end to this shipwreck’s story With wonderment in her blue eyes She stares as the old captain cries This lonely soul gave all his worth As downtrodden as the dry earth Often strangers are overlooked Take a listen and you'll be hooked A good ear is rare as a pearl Similar to this precious girl
