Salt

The water I drink is too salty,

The food and the desserts too,

The tears stream down my face,

They are too salty too.

I wash my wounds with salt,

I know that I’m not supposed too,

It doesn’t feel good and it doesn’t feel right,

But my mind is too salty too.

The glass shatters against the ground,

The pieces go every which way,

The tears won't ever stop flowing,

No matter how much I push them away.

The water I drink is too salty,

The food and the desserts too,

But mom made it with love,

So I’ll eat all of the salt for you.
